That symbol is for a RSS which is a way of subscribing to a blog via a special protocol understood by various web software. I use https://www.newsblur.com/
Ironically the blog does have a RSS feed which I use to subscribe to it.

Using the RSS symbol (which is normally white on Red) is like using a train symbol for a bus stop.
